Abstract

Student development tasks will be influenced by various issues. Issues related to development tasks will affect a person's well-being. According to Diener, the three main factors influencing subjective well-being are education, marital status, gender, religiosity, age, and income. Cultural factors include self-esteem, social support, coping strategies, optimism, and individual desire regulation. This study aims to determine the influence of academic stress and emotional regulation on subjective well-being among junior high school students. The study employed a quantitative correlational method with 111 junior high school students from Nurul Hikmah II Islamic School as subjects. The instruments used included a subjective well-being scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.899, an academic stress scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.832, and an emotional regulation scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.795. Data collection techniques included interviews and psychological scales. The results of the correlation test showed a relationship between academic stress and subjective well-being with r = -0.346; p<0.0001.
