Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in science subjects in elementary schools as a problem that needs to be observed. This is due to several factors, including the lack of student participation in expressing opinions, the low level of cooperation in completing assignments, and inadequate understanding of science learning materials, which is sometimes also followed by errors in understanding. To overcome this problem, the STAD-type cooperative learning model can be used as a solution. This model focuses on activities and interactions between students, which is expected to motivate them and help in mastering the learning material so as to achieve optimal results. This study aims to examine the application of the STAD-type cooperative learning model in an effort to improve students' science learning outcomes at the elementary school level. The research method used is the Sytematic Literature Review (SLR) which refers to 10 journal articles that meet the inclusion criteria, namely: indexed by the google schoolar database, published in the last 9 years (2014-2023), and a discussion in journal articles regarding the application of the STAD-type cooperative model to science learning outcomes with the subject of elementary school students. From each journal article that has been analyzed, various aspects have been found that have been analyzed by the author. These aspects include the research area, the year of publication of the research, the research methods used, the steps to be implemented both in the lower and upper grades, learning materials, the application of media-assisted and non-media-assisted models, and learning outcome indicators. Based on the results of the analysis, differences were found in the application of the STAD-type cooperative learning model. However, overall this study shows that the STAD-type cooperative model has a positive and effective influence on the learning process, as well as in science learning. This, student learning outcomes at the elementary school level can increase.
