Abstract

Acculturative stress is a disadvantage experienced during the process of adapting to and integrating new belief systems, routines, and social roles. This study aims to explore the challenges of acculturative stress faced by students migrating to Bekasi, including its causes, effects, and coping mechanisms. The research adopts a qualitative phenomenological approach, employing semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation as data collection methods. The subjects of this study consist of five migrant students from regions outside Jabodetabek who are currently studying at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. Data collected were analyzed using Thematic Data Analysis, followed by triangulation to ensure data credibility. The findings reveal that the subjects encountered various challenges during their migration, such as differences in climate, social interaction patterns, youth culture, homesickness, and struggles with independence
