Abstract

Cyberbullying is an increasingly worrying phenomenon in the era of technological development and advanced communication, especially among adolescents. Teenagers are in the stage of identity development and emotional control so that they are more vulnerable to negative influences. This study aims to determine the influence between anonymity and self-control on cyberbullying behavior in students. This study uses a quantitative method with a sample of 100 students who have committed cyberbullying. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews and psychological scales. The results of the correlation test showed a significant positive relationship between anonymity and cyberbullying with a value of r = 0.0639, p = 0.00 (<0.05). Furthermore, there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and cyberbullying with a value of r = -0.0495, p = 0.000 (<0.05).The results of the simple linear regression test show a significant positive influence between anonymity and cyberbullying with a value of t = 8.976, p = 0.000 (<0.05), R2 = 0.451. This shows that the anonymity variable contributes 45% to cyberbullying. Furthermore, there is a significant negative effect between self-control and cyberbullying with a value of t = -8.244, p = 0.000 (<0.05), R2 = 0.409. This shows that the self-control variable contributes 40% to cyberbullying.
