Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of problem-focused coping and social support in relation to the psychological well-being of students. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between problem-focused coping and social support on students' psychological well-being. This study is a quantitative, correlational research with the subjects being 12th-grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Tambun Selatan. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data collection was done using psychological scales, namely the Problem-Focused Coping Scale, the Social Support Scale, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale.Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between problem-focused coping and psychological well-being with r = 0.395 (p = 0.000). There is also a positive and significant relationship between social support and psychological well-being with r = 0.373 (p = 0.000). The results of the multiple linear regression test showed that problem-focused coping and social support explained 19.1% of the variance in psychological well-being, while the remaining variance was influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
