Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement of reading comprehension skills using the Cooperative Script learning method in class IV students at SDN Padurenan V, Bekasi City. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, each cycle includes four activities, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were 30 class IV students at SDN Padurenan V, Bekasi City. The data collection methods used were teacher observation sheets and student observation sheets. The indicator of success in speaking skills is seen from classical completeness of 80%, students who achieve the minimum completeness criteria score in the Indonesian language subject are 75. The results of the research show that students' reading comprehension skills increase with each cycle. The results of students' speaking skills in cycle I were 36%, an average of 64, and cycle II increased to 86%, an average of 81. Thus, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Script learning model can improve students' speaking skills in Indonesian language subjects.
