Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model in improving descriptive essay writing skills in elementary school students. Problems that occur in the skill of writing descriptive essays include, namely (1) Students still have difficulty in expressing / pouring ideas, ideas, opinions, and imaginations into written form, (2) Students still have difficulty in writing sentences and making essays coherently, (3 ) There are still many students who do not pay attention to punctuation in writing sentences, (4) Lack of students' ability to integrate relationships between sentences, (5) Less variety of learning media and lack of teachers in using varied learning models to attract students' interest. From these problems, the authors are interested in studying, with the title "Application of the Model Think Talk Write (TTW) on Essay Writing Skills for Elementary School Students in Indonesian Lessons in Higher Classes in a Systematic Review " The research method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. By referring to the inclusion criteria that the author has set: a) Indexed by the database Google Scholar, One Search and Semantic Scholar , b) Research journals published in the range of 2012 – 2022, c) Indonesian language lessons, d) With elementary school students as subjects, 5) Journals that become reference sources must be accessible, e) Journals that contains an overview of the model Think Talk Write or write a descriptive essay. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model can create a new learning atmosphere and actively involve students in the learning process so that students can understand so that learning objectives are achieved. The recommendations offered by the author, for teachers in the classroom, are to use the media "Animated Video" which is used to assist the learning process. With steps, namely: a) The teacher forms groups, one group contains 3-5 people, distributes answer sheets, b) The teacher plays an animated video according to the theme, each student begins to analyze the content of the video ( think ), c) each individual begins to convey the results of their analysis. Then, start discussing to determine the contents of the essay outline ( Talk ), c) After discussing, then students start writing descriptive essays according to the contents of the video ( write ).
