Abstract
The research focused on the relevance of subjective well-being in educational settings in Indonesia. The study attempted to examine the influence of work-life balance and gratitude on teachers’ subjective well-being. This research employed a quantitative correlational method, and used to select 97 teachers from 4 high schools which were also used as research subjects. Data collection involved interviews and psychology scale. The research instruments used to work life balance scale by Greenhaus (2003), GRAT-16 Short Form scale (ralpha = 0.92) by Watkins (2003) and subjective well being scale by Diener (2002). Based on the results of Spearman’s Rank analysis, a positive influence was found between work- life balance and subjective well-being (r = 0.586, p = 0.001, p < 0.05). Gratitude showed a significant influence with subjective well-being (r = 0.589, p = 0.001, p < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis produced results of Sig. F = 0.000, R Square = 0.407, showing that work-life balance and gratitude together accounted for 40.7% of the variance in teachers’ subjective well-being.
