Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between academic stress and achievement goals on academic help seeking in students. This research is a quantitative study with a research design using correlation research and simple linear regression. The research subjects amounted to 370 undergraduate student respondents at Islamic University 45 Bekasi with probability sampling technique type Stratified Random Sampling. Data collection in this study used psychological scales and interviews. The instruments used are academic stress scale, achievement goal scale and academic help seeking scale. The instrument reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha formula resulted in a ralpha = 0.68 value for the academic help seeking scale, a ralpha = 0.888 value for the academic stress scale and a ralpha = 0.700 value for the achievement goal scale. Data analysis in this study used Spearman Rank correlation technique and simple Linear Regression Test to test the hypothesis. The results of the study between academic stress variables on academic help seeking, showed a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05). This means that academic stress has a significant influence on academic help seeking. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.238, meaning that academic stress has a 23.8% influence on academic help seeking and the remaining 76.2% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. on the achievement goal variable on academic help seeking, shows
