Abstract

This classroom action research was motivated by the results of the researchers' initial observations on the learning outcomes of Civics students which showed that the average was still below the KKM (77.50) that had been determined. This study aims to determine the application of the make a match learning method in improving student learning outcomes in Civics Subjects. The methodology in this study uses the Classroom Action Research method which is designed through the stages of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The results showed that after improving learning using the make a match method, students' Civics learning outcomes experienced a significant increase. This can be seen in the learning outcomes of 30 grade 3 students before the research was carried out, only 5 (16.67%) students were advanced students and 25 (83.33%) did not complete. After being taught using the make a match method in cycle I accompanied by improvement in learning according to the observer's suggestion the Civics learning outcomes of 30 grade 3 students increased to 16 (53.33%) students who completed and 14 (46.67%) students did not complete. The results of this study showed an increase in completeness of 36.66% compared to before the study. In cycle I the research target was 80% of students who had to achieve the KKM but were not successful because only 53.33% of students achieved the KKM. In cycle II showed a significant development. This can be seen from the results of Civics learning in cycle II of 30 grade 3 students, there were 26 (86.67%) students who completed and 4 (13.33%) did not complete. The results of this second cycle of research showed an increase in learning completeness of 33.34% from cycle I and 70% from before the study. The research target of 80% of students achieving KKM has been achieved because in cycle II 86.67% of students have completed their studies. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the make a match method can improve Civics learning outcomes for students in grade 3 SDN Bojong Rawalumbu I.
