Abstract

This research was motivated by low mathematical communication skills in elementary school students. This happens because of the lack of communicating problem solving, students do not care how to explain the answers using proper and correct mathematical language, and how to put ideas or ideas into pictures. Another factor that causes low mathematical communication skills is that teachers still use conventional learning that is still teacher-centered, while the Think Talk Write learning model is one alternative that can improve mathematical communication skills. This study aims to examine and find out the picture of students' mathematical communication skills in elementary school through the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. The type of research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) or research conducted by identifying, analyzing, and evaluating pre-existing data or sources, namely scientific journals or books in accordance with the title studied. The analysis sample is 10 journal articles that have been published in the last 8 years (2014-2022). The inclusion criteria for this study are indexed by the Google Scholar database, subject to elementary schools, and discuss the think talk write learning model to improve students' mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of the analysis of journal articles, there are differences that can improve mathematical communication skills by using the Think Talk Write learning model, especially using the PTK research method. Overall, this study shows that the think talk write learning model is suitable for use in learning activities that can improve the mathematical communication skills of elementary school students.
