Nur Anugrah Haidi Purwanto. 41182911170103. EFFORTS OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHER IN DEVELOPING THE ISLAMIC CHARACTER OF STUDENTS AT SMPN 1 CILEUNGSI. Islamic education study program. Islamic University "45" Bekasi. 1444 H/2023 M. (number of pages and attached pages). This research was conducted to find out how the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in fostering the Islamic character of students and what are the factors that support or hinder at SMPN 1 Cileungsi. This research was conducted using data analysis techniques that are descriptive during research activities and seek to explain and explain rationally, objectively with existing research objectives and problems. The research method used is a qualitative approach, namely research that produces descriptive data in the form of written and oral explanations of the subjects observed. In fostering the Islamic character of grade, the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers, namely (1) Habituation of worship activities in congregation (2) Habituation of polite and polite behavior (3) Habituation of social activities in the school environment (4) The teacher gives a moral message in learning ( 5) The teacher invites students to pray before and after learning in class. While the supporting factors in developing Islamic character for grade 7 students at SMPN 1 Cileungsi are educational institutions and school principals willing to facilitate the procurement of teaching materials related to the formation of Islamic character, ROHIS extracurricular development, and teacher motivation in habituating learning activities. While the inhibiting factor is that there are students who do not understand much religious material, and the motivation of students in Islamic character is still lacking. Therefore, the role of Islamic education teachers in accustoming them to Islamic character is applied starting from students entering the SMPN 1 Cileungsi school environment. Islamic religious education teachers shape the character of students to become exemplary models for them in their social and interactive relationships.
