Abstract

This research is motivated by the low story writing skills of students at MI Al Hikmah, North Jakarta. Which is marked by the lack of students' ability in story writing skills. Story writing skills in class II MI Al Hikmah North Jakarta students are still relatively low because almost some students experience difficulties in story writing skills, including many students still use repeated word repetition, many students have difficulty writing effectively, many students have difficulty writing sequentially and choose the right word. The following is data on the average value of students in story writing skills, namely with a percentage of 31%. Of the 19 students who passed, only 6 students. The aim of this research was to improve story writing skills through Serial Picture Media at MI Al Hikmah, North Jakarta. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with 2 (two) cycles. Each cycle is carried out in 4 stages, namely planning, implementing, implementing, and reflecting. The number of students in the research class was 19 students. The number of male students is 9 children and 10 female students. Data collection techniques in this study used a written test. The success indicator that was measured in this study was the students' ability to write stories. The researcher was declared successful if 80% of the students reached ≥75. The results showed that class II classical completeness increased from cycle I to cycle II. The percentage of classical mastery in the first cycle is 53% with an average of 71. In the second cycle the classical completeness is 84% with an average of 80. By using Serial Picture media the teacher becomes more active and creative in using media in learning and students become more creative and interested in writing stories so that students' story writing skills can improve. And thus it can be concluded that Serial Picture Media can improve students' story writing skills with Serial Picture media in class II MI Al Hikmah, North Jakarta.
