Abstract

Maintaining psychological well-being in caregivers, especially in institutions engaged in mental health at Yayasan X Rehabilitation Center, is an important factor. The demands and challenges of the job faced every day have the potential to disrupt the psychological well-being of the caregiver. The purpose of this study was to determine the description and influence of emotional labor and job insecurity on psychological well-being. The design of this study is to measure the correlation and regression of two independent variables and one dependent variable; emotional labor (X1) and job insecurity (X2) on psychological well-being (Y). The subjects of this study were 57 caregivers at the ODGJ Rehabilitation Center of Foundation X. The technique used in sampling in this study was a population study. The validity test results show that all items are valid. Reliability test using Alpha Cornbach's which shows the results of emotioonal labor of 0.787, job insecurity of 0.629 and psychological well-being of 0.893. The method used in data collection is a psychological scale that is printed and distributed in printout form. The correlation test using Pearson correlation shows the results of a positive and significant relationship between emotional labor and psychological well-being, marked by Sig. 0.001 (p <0.05), and r = 0.426 which means the relationship is positive, so Ha1 can be accepted. The correlation test results show a negative and significant relationship between job insecurity variables and psychological well-being. This is indicated by Sig. 0.003 (p <0.05) which means there is a relationship and r = -0.385 which indicates the relationship is negative, so Ha2 can be accepted. Based on the results of multiple linear regression tests, it shows that the value of the f test or influence test is Sig.0.000 (Sig.<0.05) which means Ha3 is accepted or it can be concluded that there is an influence of emotional labor and job insecurity on psychological well-being. The magnitude of the influence value is 0.290 with a percentage of 29%. This shows that psychological well-being can be influenced by emotional labor and job insecurity by 29%, while the other 71% is influenced by variables not studied. The independent variable that has a higher effect on the dependent variable is the emotional labor variable. These results show r = 0.426 on the emotional labor variable and r = 0.385 on the job insecurity variable. It can be interpreted that the emotional labor variable is a better variable in predicting psychological well-being.
