Septiana Hadisah, 41182109220002: The Application of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) Model Assisted by Concrete Media to Improve Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability in Third Grade Elementary School Students. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. This study was motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of students in solving word problems on the topic of length units. This can be seen from the fact that students experienced difficulties in identifying the known and asked information, developing a solution plan, carrying out the solution plan systematically, and drawing conclusions from the obtained solution. Therefore, improvement efforts were needed through the implementation of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model assisted by concrete media. This study aimed to improve students' mathematical problem-solving ability in solving word problems on the topic of length units through the implementation of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model assisted by concrete media. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 30 students of Class III C at SDN Cimuning II. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The success criterion of this study was 80%, with the Minimum Mastery Criterion (MMC) set at 75. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model assisted by concrete media was able to improve students' mathematical problem-solving ability. The students' average score increased from 66 in Cycle I to 75 in Cycle II, while the classical learning mastery increased from 60% to 80%, representing an increase of 20%, indicating that the research success criterion had been achieved. Therefore, the implementation of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model assisted by concrete media proved to be effective in improving the mathematical problem-solving ability of Class III students at SDN Cimuning II.
