Abstract

Academic anxiety is a psychological problem often experienced by final-year students due to academic demands, the use of technology in the learning process, and fear of failure. This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of AI use and fear of failure with academic anxiety. This study used a quantitative correlational approach with 266 final year students selected through cluster sampling technique. Data were collected using a likert scale. Instrument validity was tested through expert judgment, while reliability was measured by Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.960 on the academic anxiety scale, 0.946 on the intensity of AI use, and 0.939 on the fear of failure. Data analysis used Spearman’s Rho correlation and simple linear regression. The results showed a significant positive relationship between the intensity of AI use and academic anxiety (r = 0.619; p = 0.000) and fear of failure and academic anxiety (r = 0.662; p = 0.000). Thus, the research hypothesis was accepted, which means that the higher the intensity of AI use and fear of failure, the higher the academic anxiety in final year students.
