Abstract
College students are in a developmental stage that is expected to provide opportunities for self-development, academic achievement, and the attainment of life satisfaction throughout their higher education. However, various academic and non-academic demands, including organizational involvement, internships, and preparation for entering the workforce, often lead to stress, anxiety, and burnout, which may reduce students' subjective well-being. This study aimed to examine the contribution of Joy of Missing Out (JoMO) and mindfulness to subjective well-being among college students at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 354 college students selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews and psychological scales. The instruments used were the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), a Joy of Missing Out (JoMO) scale developed by the researcher, and the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ). Data were analyzed using Spearman's Rank Correlation and multiple linear regression. The results indicated a positive relationship between Joy of Missing Out (JoMO) and subjective well-being (r = 0.417, p < .001), as well as a positive relationship between mindfulness and subjective well-being (r = 0.302, p < .001). Furthermore, Joy of Missing Out (JoMO) and mindfulness jointly accounted for 18.1% of the variance in subjective well-being (R² = .181, F = 38.758, p < .001).
