Abstract

Feelings of isolation often haunt those facing challenges during their growth. A preliminary study involving interviews with students at SMAIT Bunyan Indonesia revealed that 3 out of 5 adolescents experience loneliness. This research aims to determine the difference in loneliness levels after providing mindfulness training to the experimental group. The method used is experimental, specifically a pre-experimental research design, involving 15 adolescents. The instruments used include a loneliness scale developed by the researcher based on Russell's theory and a mindfulness scale adapted from the Five-Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) by Baer et al., which was translated into Indonesian by Meindy et al. The data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics with the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of this study showed a Z-value of -3.420 and a p-value of .001 (<0.05). Consequently, H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. This indicates a significant difference in loneliness levels before and after the mindfulness training was administered to the experimental group.
