Abstract
In the Strips blister drug packaging machine, several components are made of DIN 1.2083 steel for example, this is an important component in the Strips blister drug packaging machine. The component functions as an adhesive tool for aluminum foil, works by rotating and pressing to glue the aluminum foil for packaging a drug, from the twisting and pressing motion so that the receives a frictional load between the other Sealing Roll, from the twisting and pressing motion it will occur. fractures and cracks on the surface of the in the form of a cartell (Ruster). One way that can be done to overcome this is to add carbon elements to this material, namely the surface treatment process with the pack carburizing method, which means a process to increase the surface hardness of a carbon steel. Then this research was carried out in the form of experiments on DIN 1.2083 steel with a pack carburizing process using temperature variations of 910 °C, 930 °C and 950 °C with the aim of knowing how much influence the pack process has on the value of tensile strength, tensile strength value, value strain and microstructure yield in DIN 1.2083 steel. The results of the tensile strength test (Tensile Strength) that have been carried out show that the results of the average tensile strength value on 4 types of specimens that have been tested are 625 MPa for untreated rods, 1512 MPa for 910 C rods, 1571 for 930 C rods. MPa, specimen 950 C of 1578 MPa. While the average yield strength (Yield Strength) obtained from untreated specimens is 513 MPa, 910 C specimens are 1274 MPa, 930 C specimens are 1336 MPa, 950 C specimens are 1414 MPa, while the results of the average strain (Elongation) obtained in the untreated specimen by 28.4% or stretching along 14.2 mm, in the 910 C specimen by 7.43% or stretching along 3.715 mm, in the 930 C specimen by 8.00% or stretching along 4 mm, and on the 950 C specimen by 6.11% or stretching along 3.055 mm. The highest value of tensile strength was obtained at 950 °C specimen of 1578 MPa. The highest tensile strength value was obtained at 950 C specimens at 1414 MPa. And the highest strain value was found in untreated specimens of 28.4% or stretched along 14.2 mm. The results of the microstructure testing that have been carried out show that there is an increase in the number of cementite and pearlite elements in the specimens that have gone through the pack process.
