Abstract
This study examines a power generation system using the Dongfeng RF-2000 generator equipped with a voltage regulator and tested under inductive load conditions. The main components of this system include a 3-phase motor, generator, voltage regulator, inductive load, capacitor, rectifier circuit, and measuring instruments. The Dongfeng RF-2000 generator converts mechanical energy into electricity with specific specifications such as a peak power of 1000 W and a nominal voltage of 220 V. The three-phase driving motor provides the necessary mechanical rotation to operate the generator. The voltage regulator controls the excitation of the generator’s field winding to maintain output voltage stability. The system wiring includes proper connections between the motor, generator, and voltage regulator to ensure optimal and safe power flow. Test data were collected in two conditions: no-load and with a single-phase induction motor load. The parameters measured include voltage, frequency, rotational speed, excitation current, power, and generator output current. The measurement results indicate that RPM does not significantly affect VAC and VDC voltages, with an average RPM of 1440.4. In the first no-load test, a VAC voltage regulator of 50 Volts showed a linear relationship with a VDC result of 45 Volts, and a generator output voltage of 103 Volts at PF 1, a frequency of 124 Hz, and an excitation current of 1.6 Amperes. In the load test with an induction motor, to maintain the generator output at approximately 103 Volts, a regulator voltage of 60 VAC was required, resulting in 52 VDC and an excitation current of 4 Amperes at a frequency of 70 Hz and PF 0.8.
