Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of temperature variations in the bending process using ST 41 Steel pipe material on the quality of the bending results. The material used in this research is ST 41 Steel Pipe material with a size of 1 inch and a thickness of 2 mm, which is low carbon steel containing 0.08% - 0.20% carbon. In steel specifications, if the carbon value is below 0.30%, the steel can be said to be low carbon steel and has a strain of around 36-24%. This material has the meaning ST, which means steel (Stahl), and the number 41, which means the minimum breaking strain toughness is up to 41 kg/〖mm〗^2. Tensile toughness is also limited upwards and is generally ≤50 kg/〖mm〗^2. The variations in this research use temperature variations of 400℃, 500℃, and 600℃. This research uses a bending process with pipes that have gone through a hot working process with temperature variations and then bent 90°. For results, the pipe with a temperature of 400℃ experienced a taper of 2.10 mm. In the results, the pipe with a temperature of 500℃ experienced a taper of 0.10 mm. The results of the pipe with a temperature of 600℃ experienced a taper of 0.20 mm. In pipes without hot working there is no change due to the influence of the pipe thickness of 2 mm so that the Bending Dies cannot move and a constant result of 25.40 mm is obtained. The results from a temperature of 500℃ are superior to a temperature of 500℃ and a temperature of 600℃. Keyword : Temperature Variasion, ST 41 Steel Pipe, Bending Procces, Bending Results
