Abstract

Advances in electronic technology continue to develop and innovate according to human culture and lifestyle. A wheelchair is a medical device to help people who have difficulty walking, such as due to illness, disability or disability. The aim achieved in conducting this research is to design and implement a wheelchair robot and also to determine the effect of the rule base method on robot movement. In preparing this thesis, the author conducted research with the object of a wheeled chair robot with obstacle avoidance behavior based on input from 4 ultrasonic sensors, each of which was placed at the front, right and left. This design is to make it easier to move the robot in all directions. Based on the results of assembling the designed mechanical device, the use of ultrasonic sensors, namely 4 sensors, means that this electrical circuit has 2 flywheels and 2 regular wheels that can be installed on the Wheeled Chair Robot. The electrical system of the Wheelchair Robot contains several supporting materials. The materials include an Ultrasonic Sensor which functions to read the obstacles in front of the Robot. Motor Driver that can control two DC motors, where this DC motor requires 12 V of power. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, the following conclusions can be drawn: The chair robot that has been planned and implemented has the ability to move in all directions to avoid obstacles. is around him. The robot control center is managed via the Arduino Uno microcontroller board, which is programmed using the Arduino IDE application with the C/C++ programming language.
