Abstract

Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor has produced many alumni who take part in the community and become leaders who unite the people. Because one of Gontor's visions is to produce cadres of ummah leaders who are tough, militant, morally Islamic, and knowledgeable through the process of training, education and coaching with the motto ready to lead and ready to be led. Gontor has his own tips and methods in educating his students to have a leadership spirit. One of them is the Modern Boarding School Student Organization (OPPM) which has a very important role and responsibility in leading, regulating, controlling, and organizing the running of the regulations at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor as the right hand of the boarding school leader. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. Data was collected using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, the data analysis used an interactive analysis of the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study aims to: 1) to analyse the concept of leadership character education on OPPM board at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Ponorogo 2) to analyse the implementation of the concept of leadership character education on OPPM board at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Ponorogo 3) to analyse the implications of leadership character education on OPPM board at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Ponorogo. his research produces findings: 1) the concept of leadership character education on the OPPM board consists of briefings before becoming a board member, seminars on leadership, and holding knowledge assemblies for new board members. 2) the implementation of leadership character education is carried out by applying exemplary, environmental creation, direction, assignment, and habituation. 3) as a result of the implementation of this strategy is the embedding of 14 characteristics of Gontor leaders.
