Abstract
Consumption of Indonesian eggs as animal protein intake is still quite high, this has the opportunity for laying hens to have good prospects and future, but every business must also experience various kinds of risks. Cimuning Farm is also inseparable from various risks. This study aims to determine the source of production risk that occurs in Cimuning Farm, the level of production risk, and the impact of the risk of laying hens production in Cimuning Farm. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Sources of risk in Cimuning Farm include various diseases, pests, and weather using descriptive analysis methods. The risk analysis method uses variation, standard deviation, coefficient of variation and lower limit. With the standard value analysis method (Z-score) and Value at Risk (VaR), the results show that there are 3 sources of risk. Sources of probability of production risk are chicken death caused by pests by 32.28%, weather 24.20%, and disease 12.10%. The impact of losses that can be caused by the source of chicken death is Rp1.011.001,00 for pests, Rp1.849.575,00 for the weather, and Rp5.724.122,00 for disease. Cimuning Farm in dealing with production risks, namely carrying out a preventive strategy by installing barbed wire around the parapet of the cage, and making a watch shift schedule at night. Mitigation strategies that can be carried out are spraying insecticides regularly, cleaning places to eat and drinking regularly and administering drugs and vaccines regularly.
