Abstract

The low learning outcomes in learning mathematics for elementary school students occurs because learning mathematics is often described as a subject that is difficult, boring, and scary. This can have an impact on understanding the material, as well as learning outcomes in mathematics. Another factor that causes low mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools is the use of conventional learning methods. Educators only use the lecture method and whiteboard aids, so that students are less active or tend to be passive in the teaching and learning process. This analysis aims to find out the description of the use of the peer teaching method on student learning outcomes in mathematics learning subjects in elementary schools such as planning, implementation, steps, and how they impact the ability of elementary school students. The analytical method used is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) or Systematic Literature Review, namely research that identifies, assesses, and interprets all relevant research results related to certain research questions, certain topics or phenomena of concern. This analysis uses 11 journal articles related to peer teaching and student mathematics learning outcomes that are in accordance with the research inclusion criteria, namely indexed by the Google Scholar database, journals published in 20014-2023 (the last 9 years), subject search according to the topic of discussion of researchers, mathematics lessons, and elementary school students. Based on the results of the analysis of peer teaching learning methods (peer teaching) can improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students, especially high class students, because in practice high class students have characteristics that are active, critical, and dare to speak. The peer tutor learning method (Peer Teaching) has a significant effect on improving the mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students.
