Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in preventing radicalism among students in SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi City. This research is a type of qualitative research, the source of data that researchers can be through primary data and secondary data. Primary data researchers can be from the results of interviews with deputy principals, Islamic religious educational teachers and several students of SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi City. Secondary data researchers obtained through books, scientific journals, papers and other literature. Then the data collection was carried out through three methods, namely observation, documentation and interview. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi City, this school is the object of research because as a favorite public school in the surrounding environment. The results of this study show that there are efforts to be Islamic religious education teachers in preventing radicalism among students, the teacher's efforts are carried out through the learning process using methods that are in accordance with the material and character of students. The method used is the lecture method, discussion and question and answer. In addition to using methods, the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers are also through habituation that are carried out routinely outside the classroom, such as the midday prayer in congregation, cult and celebration of Muslim holidays. This is an attempt to teachers of Islamic religious education in order to prevent the entry of radicalism among students, because adolescents still prioritize emotions rather than reason and tend to be still unstable
