Abstract
Social media Instagram is currently the media most often used by young people, Folkative is an online media platform that utilizes this to become an information medium that has a focus on creative culture, art, music, film, technology and the latest fashion developments. Folkative is an information media that focuses on young people, Folkative can also be formed because it inspires, and represents the voice of the creative culture of young people in Indonesia. Folkative does this by creating creative and interesting informational content. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of social media Instagram Folkative on fulfilling the information needs of followers. This study uses a quantitative approach with explanatory and descriptive analysis. The sampling was carried out using non-probability sampling with accidental sampling techniques. The results in this study stated that the information conveyed on the Fokaltive Instagram account had a positive and significant effect on fulfilling the information needs of followers, as indicated by the regression coefficient value of 0.614. Instagram Folkative contributed 75.2% to the information needs fulfillment variable. Keywords: Instagram, Information Needs, Folkative
