Abstract
ABSTRACT The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has brought significant changes in the field of home automation, particularly in improving comfort, security, and efficiency in residential management. The integration of hardware, software, and communication networks enables household devices to be monitored and controlled centrally through internet-based systems. This condition encourages the design of an integrated and applicable smart home system as a simulation of IoT implementation in residential environments. This final project aims to design and build a smart home miniature based on Internet of Things technology using ESP32 as the main controller. The developed system is capable of controlling eight room lights as a lighting simulation, a fan functioning as a warehouse blower, and a door security system consisting of a servo motor and a solenoid door lock. In addition, the system is equipped with a DHT11 sensor to monitor temperature and humidity in the warehouse room as a representation of real home environmental conditions. The methodology used in this project includes designing the layout of the miniature house using AutoCAD, constructing an acrylic-based miniature house, developing ESP32-based hardware and software systems, and conducting comprehensive system testing. Data communication between the ESP32 and the server is performed using the MQTT and HTTP REST API protocols, while system monitoring and control are displayed through a Laravel-based dashboard. The results show that the system operates properly in controlling devices and monitoring environmental conditions in real time, and the proposed system is expected to serve as a reference for the development of Internet of Things-based smart home systems.
