Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in developing students' Islamic character and the obstacles faced in its implementation at SDN Bantargebang VI. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with five sources, namely the principal, class teachers, PAI teachers, parents, and students. The results of the study indicate that the efforts of PAI teachers in developing students' Islamic character are carried out through habituating religious activities, such as dhuha prayer, tadarus Al-Qur'an, prayers before and after learning, instilling noble moral values, providing exemplary attitudes, and delivering learning materials related to everyday life. Obstacles faced in the formation of Islamic character in students include differences in family background, the influence of students' social environment, and limited time for character development at school. To overcome these obstacles, Islamic Religious Education teachers have implemented various solutions, including a personal approach to students, providing ongoing advice and guidance, and establishing intensive communication and cooperation between the school and parents. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the efforts and solutions implemented by Islamic Religious Education teachers in the formation of Islamic character in students at SDN Bantargebang VI have been running quite well and effectively, although they still require improvement and support from various parties.
