Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in fostering student morality at SMAN 2 Bekasi and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study used qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving Islamic religious education teachers, the principal, and students. The results of this study indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers foster morality through several key strategies: leading by example in daily behavior, accustoming students to positive activities such as congregational prayer and reciting the Koran, teaching students about morality, providing motivation and advice, and enforcing rules and providing educational sanctions when rules are violated. This moral development process is supported by school policies that instill a religious culture and involve all parties within the school environment. However, challenges remain, such as the influence of the external environment, social media, and negative habits brought from home.
