Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of teacher communication in bilingual learning at the elementary school level through aspects of verbal and nonverbal communication toward students' language comprehension. The research discusses how teacher communication builds interaction in two languages to support the learning process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with techniques including direct classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, conducted at SDIT Annisa Cikarang Selatan. The results show that verbal communication by teachers, such as bilingual explanations, repetition, intonation, and the use of simple vocabulary, significantly helps students understand the learning material. Meanwhile, nonverbal communication, such as gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, and tone of voice, strengthens message delivery and creates a positive learning atmosphere. The effectiveness of communication cognitive, affective, and conative is evident in students' responses, which show improved language comprehension, positive attitudes toward foreign languages, and the habit of using English in daily conversations. Future research is recommended to explore bilingual teacher communication at different education levels and consider the use of digital media as a support for bilingual classroom communication.
