Abstract

Increasing social pressure and high expectations trigger perfectionism and anxiety about failure among late adolescents. This study aims to identify the relationship between perfectionism and social support on fear of failure in Generation Z aged 17-18 years old, grade XII students at SMAN 01 Bekasi Regency as many as 134 people, with a Likert psychology scale. The reliability of the perfectionism scale is 0.931 with a validity of 35 items, the reliability of the social support scale is 0.875 with a validity of 20, and the reliability of the fear of failure scale is 0.921 with a validity of 22 items.Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression and Spearman's Rank correlation test which showed a fairly strong positive relationship between perfectionism and fear of failure (Spearman's correlation coefficient 0.455; p = 0.000), while social support has a weak positive relationship with fear of failure (correlation coefficient 0.048; p = 0.580).
