Abstract

This research is a quantitative correlational study using a non-probability sampling technique with a proportionate stratified random sampling method. The subjects of this study consisted of 392 final-year students at the Islamic University 45 Bekasi. Data collection methods included interviews and psychological scales. The measurement tool for Kejenuhan akademikwas based on Schaufeli (Fitri & Sari, 2017) with a reliability score of 0.946. The emotional regulation scale was based on the measurement tool by Gross (Radde dkk., 2021) with a reliability score of 0.767, and the academic stress measurement tool was based on Sun (Lie dkk., 2021) with a reliability score of 0.841. The correlation test results showed that there is a relationship between emotional regulation and academic burnout, with a correlation coefficient of -0.195 and a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Similarly, the relationship between academic stress and Kejenuhan akademikhad a correlation coefficient of 0.245 and a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Therefore, based on the results of both correlation tests, it can be concluded that both variables have a significant relationship with academic burnout. Emotional regulation accounts for 5.3% of the variance in academic burnout, while the remaining 94.7% is influenced by other factors. Academic stress accounts for 5.8% of the variance in academic burnout, while the remaining 94.2% is influenced by other factors.
