Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the relationship between permissive parenting and emotional regulation on bullying behavior in adolescents at SMK Yayasan Pelita Tiga. The background of this study is based on the high rate of bullying among adolescents which is influenced by family environmental factors, especially parenting patterns, and the ability of adolescents to regulate emotions. This study uses a quantitative correlational method with a quota sampling technique, involving 101 students as respondents. The instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire on the three variables. Data analysis used the Spearman correlation test because the data was non-parametric. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant positive relationship between permissive parenting and bullying behavior (r = 0.423; p < 0.01), as well as a significant negative relationship between emotional regulation and bullying behavior (r = -0.389; p < 0.01). This means that the higher the level of permissive parenting receivedby students, the more likely theyareto experiencebullying.Conversely,thebettertheemotionalregulationthey have, the lower the tendency to become victims of bullying. This study provides an important contribution to efforts to prevent bullying through a family approach and strengthening emotional regulation in adolescents.
