Abstract

Muhammad Fikri Arifin. 41182911180071. URGENCY OF THE CONCEPT OF MORAL EDUCATION FROM BUYA HAMKA'S PERSPECTIVE AND APPLICATION TO ACTUAL ISSUES OF CONTEMPORARY EDUCATION. Islamic Religious Education, Faculty of Islamic Religion, Islamic University Islam 45 Bekasi, (1446/2023). (119 Pages + 26 Pages). The Islamic education system in Indonesia is experiencing fundamental challenges, for this reason, continuous reform efforts are being implemented. Hamka tries to offer his thoughts as a solution to existing moral problems. The aim of this research is to examine 1.) What is the concept of moral education from Buya Hamka's perspective? 2.) How does the urgency of the buya hamka education concept respond to actual issues in contemporary education? This research is library research (Library Research) which uses library materials as the main data source and reference in research through works written about Hamka. This research collects data from primary sources and explores other information from secondary sources. The data analysis techniques used are editing, organizing, descriptive and interpretation. Based on the results of this research, it can be explained that: 1.) The concept of moral education in Hamka's perspective is that it does not only focus on the cognitive (intellectual) domain, so that educational output is reflected in students' morals in everyday life. The character values analyzed include: a) Religious values in the form of piety, faith, trust, gratitude, repentance, patience and istiqomah values as well as Honesty and Sincerity b.) Social care values in the form of trustworthiness, generosity, politeness, humanity, justice, ihsan values , c) Character education towards oneself, including the values of iffah and selfcontrol, courage, responsibility, wisdom and high fighting spirit. 2.) The urgency of the concept of moral education from Buya Hamka's perspective in answering actual issues in contemporary Islamic education, including: a). Digitalization Transformation; b). Improving the quality of educators: This includes improving human resource management, conducting training and professional development; (c). Mental health includes: (1) Peace of mind, (2) Optimism and Gratitude, (3) Self-Control, (4) Improving your relationship with Allah, (5) Avoiding greed and unlimited freedom; d). Strengthening the character of students
