Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of father absence and difficulties in emotional regulation on self-determination among student organization activists (Ormawa). The method used in this research is quantitative with a correlational approach and multiple regression analysis. The sample consists of 171 respondents selected from the population of Ormawa activists using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through a questionnaire measuring the variables of fatherless, emotional regulation difficulties, and self-determination. The research results indicate that the majority of respondents experience significant difficulties in emotional regulation. Hypothesis testing reveals a significant negative effect between father status and difficulties in emotional regulation on self-determination (p < 0.05). In conclusion, fatherless and difficulties in emotional regulation contribute to the low levels of self-determination among Ormawa activists.
