Abstract

Most students use the internet for non-academic purposes during lectures, hence the phenomenon known as “cyberloafing” in educational institutions. This study aims to determine the relationship between perceived stress and self-control on cyberloafing. The research subjects consisted of final year students at Islamic University 45 Bekasi and Esa Unggul University Bekasi. The instruments used were Cyberloafing Scale (ɑ= 0,83), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14) (ɑ= 0,82), and Self Control Scale (ɑ=0,81). There is a significant positive relationship between perceived stress and cyberloafing at Islamic University 45 Bekasi & Esa Unggul University Bekasi. There is a significant negative relationship between self-control & cyberloafing at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi & Universitas Esa Unggul Bekasi There is a significant difference in cyberloafing & perceived stress, while there is no significant difference in self-control at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi & Universitas Esa Unggul Bekasi.
