Abstract

The Effect of Teaching Games For Understanding (TGFU) in Improving the Ability of Passing Overhead in Volleyball Extracurricular Students of SMPN 123 Jakarta. Thesis of Physical Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University “45” Bekasi. This study aims to determine the effect of TGFU on improving Passing Overhead in Volleyball Extracurricular students of SMPN 123 Jakarta. The research method used in this study is an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population used in this study were students of volleyball extracurricular at SMPN 123 Jakarta with the Purposive Sampling method, obtained results with a total of 12 students consisting of 6 boys and 6 girls in the volleyball extracurricular at SMPN 123 Jakarta. The research instrument used the Brady Test with an average pretest value of 31.25 and a posttest of 35.67. The results of the Paired Sample T Test analysis with the data obtained from this study are the significance value (2-tailed) = 0.003 less than the significance level (α) = 0.05, so H_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the Teaching Games For Understanding (TGFU) model can have an effect on improving the passing ability of the volleyball extracurricular at SMPN 123 Jakarta.
