Abstract
The purpose of this research is to explore the understanding of educators regarding the concept of religious moderation, how to implement it, and the expected results of the Pancasila Student Profile and the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Student Profile Learning Project (P5P2RA). Teachers must have a deep understanding of the correct and appropriate concept of religious moderation so that its implementation is in accordance with the objectives. With the correct understanding and application in accordance with the right rules, it is hoped that the moderate attitude carried by P5P2RA can be realized. Religious moderation, which means balance in practicing religious teachings, has become a topic that has been talked about a lot in recent years. In Arabic, this concept is called al-wasathiyah, derived from the word al-wasath which means best and most perfect. In Latin, moderation comes from the word moderation, which means moderate or not less and no more. Although this concept has long been known in Islam, its popularity increased after Yusuf Al-Qardawi published a work on wasathiyah as a characteristic of Islam in 1977. The term "moderate Islam" became more widely known in the West after the Iranian revolution in 1979. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Bekasi, which is located on Jalan Ki Hajar Dewantara No.43B, Karangasih, North Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. This location was chosen because of the significant number of students and the heterogeneous environment of the madrasah. Data collection is carried out naturally through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Observation is used to collect primary data through direct observation, while semi-structured interviews provide in-depth information about P5P2RA. Documentation helps to adjust data from observations and interviews. The results of the analysis show that teachers at MAN 1 Bekasi have a good understanding of religious moderation and are able to plan a P5P2RA project that reflects the values of moderation. This implementation is evident in classroom interactions and other religious activities in madrasas, demonstrating teachers' commitment to shaping a moderate and inclusive student character, in line with national education goals.
