Abstract

Era differences can influence language patterns in naming posters at music festivals. This research aims to find out what the differences are in language patterns on music festivals posters from the 1980s to the 2020s. At the morphological level, word formations is analyzed using Yule’s (2006) theory. Then, at the syntactic level, phrase analysis uses Morley’s (2000) theory. The research method used is content analysis, which is carried out by analyzing data sourced from newspapers and social media. The research results show that at the morphological level, the ones most often used in naming music festivals titles from the 80s to the 2020s are borrowing and clipping word formation types. The borrowing word formation type is used up to 18 times, while the clipping word formation type is used six times. On the other hand, at the syntactic level, the results found are included in the nominal phrase type category from the 1980s to the 2020s.
