Abstract
Therapeutic Communication Patterns between Nurses and Patients with Mental Disabilities at the Galuh Foundation Under the guidance of Winda Primasari, S.Hum., M.Si This research aims to understand patterns of therapeutic communication between nurses and individuals with mental disabilities at the Galuh Foundation. One important aspect of health communication is therapeutic communication, which focuses on healing the patient's psychological trauma through effective interactions. The Galuh Foundation was chosen as the research location because it provides an environment that supports recovery and is easily accessible to researchers. In this research the author used a qualitative research method, namely describing data using sentences to obtain clear and detailed information. The data analysis technique in this research was carried out by reflecting on the results of interviews with nurses in the Galuh Foundation environment. Thus, the application of qualitative research methods and appropriate analysis techniques is expected to produce a deeper understanding of the dynamics of therapeutic communication in the context of mental health care at the Galuh Foundation. The research results show that nurses at the Galuh Foundation need to develop special skills to understand patient needs, overcome communication barriers, and create a discrimination-free environment. The implementation of special training and community education is proposed as a step to increase the effectiveness of therapeutic communication and reduce the stigma of mental disabilities. These findings provide practical insights for nurses and researchers in the field of health communication, especially in the context of interactions with individuals with mental disabilities.
