Abstract

The current problem faced by the community is waste which is always increasing every day. If this is left unchecked, waste will become a serious problem. One of the many solutions in managing waste is to burn it. However, during the combustion process, smoke appears which has a bad impact on long-term health. In this case, the innovation of a low-smoke waste incinerator is needed to burn waste. In the manufacture of this tool, an experimental method is used to find the influence of certain treatments on its impact. Based on the results of the opacity test using an opacity smokemeter, the average opacity level was 3.76% from three experiments, meaning that the opacity of smoke was successfully reduced referring to the comparative parameters by burning without tools which resulted in an average opacity level of 4.8%. The results of the opacity test have a difference of 1.04%, the average difference of 1.04% is assumed to be quite significant if the smoke is seen visually during the opacity testing process in the field.
