Abstract

PT. Smart Tbk, which in the Marunda Center Bekasi area creates goods made from palm oil, including shortening, margarine, cooking oil, special fats and jerry cans for packaging, PT. Smart Tbk is dedicated to creating the best goods that comply with international standards for food safety. Even though theory and practice have been applied to maintain product quality, there are always products that do not meet specifications, an example of this is the Palm Vita SHT BA product, the product produced still has a fairly high percentage of damage, this problem is quite complicated to analyze. The aim of the research is to describe and explain and determine quality problems in Palm Vita products and explain, analyze the types of defects in the product and analyze recommendations for improvements to Palm Vita product defects. The method used is Statistical Quality Control (SQC), a system developed to maintain quality standards for production results, at a minimum cost level using the SQC statistical method through a check sheet process, histogram diagram, Pareto diagram, control chart, fish bone. Research results: The number of Palm Vitas produced by PT Smart Tbk in 2021 is 8,122,553; 104,444 of these were damaged, resulting in an overall damage rate of 1.28%. 1) Humans, 2) Raw Materials, 3) Methods, and 4) Machines are the causes of bad goods. Human and machine factors are two of the four root causes of damage to goods at PT Smart Tbk. Steps to minimize defective products are supervising workers, providing training for workers and checking machine readiness before and after use so that it complies with operational standards, carrying out scheduled machine maintenance.
