Abstract
The integration of technology and humans is one of the main characteristics of Society 5.0, where advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are used to create more personalized and efficient solutions for societal needs. In the context of developing Islamic banking services, this integration opens up new opportunities while also presenting challenges that need to be addressed. To optimize the development of Islamic banking services in the era of Society 5.0, this research will analyze the internal and external factors (SWOT) that influence the development of Islamic banking services in this era. Subsequently, an analysis of the Internal Factors Evaluation (IFE) and External Factors Evaluation (EFE) matrices will be conducted, with assessments obtained from three experts from the Islamic banking industry, namely BSI, BTN Syariah, and BCA Syariah. Following this, an analysis of the Internal and External (IE) matrices will be performed to determine the strategic position and quadrant. Finally, a SWOT matrix analysis will be conducted to determine strategies for developing Islamic banking services in the era of Society 5.0. The evaluation results of the internal factors (IFE) scored 3.35 and the external factors (EFE) scored 3.09, indicating that the development of Islamic banking services is in Quadrant I, which is Grow and Build. This condition shows that the development is on the rise and has the potential to be further expanded. Based on the strategic quadrant, the development of Islamic banking services in the era of Society 5.0 is in Quadrant IA, which is Rapid Growth, indicating that the development is in a good condition and is supported by both internal and external environments. Based on this condition, the main strategy for developing Islamic banking services in the era of Society 5.0 is the S-O strategy, which leverages strengths to seize available opportunities. The S-O strategy, based on the SWOT analysis, includes the development of mobile banking applications with more innovative features, the promotion of Sharia social and economic services through digital channels, and international collaboration to enhance Sharia human resource competencies. These strategic alternatives are expected to expand the service reach and build stronger trust among communities seeking financial solutions aligned with Sharia principles, thereby increasing the market share of Islamic banking.
