Abstract

Water is one of the most important needs for humans and is a very abundant resource. Most of the water on this earth is seawater. Over time, the growing population has led to a lack of clean water supply. For this reason, proper handling is needed to process seawater into clean water. One of them is distillation. Distillation is a process of heating materials at various temperatures without contact with outside air where the process of condensation and evaporation occurs to obtain clean water. The tool used is solar distillation with an absorber to speed up the evaporation process. The absorbers used are Asphalt, Kali Stone, and Blood Shell which have the characteristics of being able to absorb heat well as an absorber. The methodology used in this study uses an experimental method of a flat-plate collector-type solar distillation device. The varieties of absorbers tested include full absorbers. The results of the test carried out for 4 hours of testing showed that the efficiency value of the stone absorber this time had the highest value, with a value of 61.13% higher than the asphalt absorber of 34.14% and 33.41% of the blood clam shell absorber. From this data, it can be concluded that Batu Kali has the highest efficiency value compared to Asphalt and Blood Shell Shells. Keywords : Distillation, Absorber, Radiation, Absorber Efficiency
