Abstract

Bullying at school often leads to long-term negative effects on victims, such as low self-esteem and depression. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of assertiveness training for bullying victims. This research is an experimental study. The population and sample of the study were 50 students from grades X and XI of SMK Kesehatan Tambun Islamic School. The data collection tool for the bullying variable used the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire Revised Version (OBQ-R) with reliability 0,899 and self-made assertiveness scale with reliability 0,912. The results of the Independent Samples T-test showed a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (p <0.05), indicating a difference in the level of assertiveness behavior between subjects who received assertiveness training and those who did not. Furthermore, the results of the Paired Samples T-test showed a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (p <0.05), indicating a difference in the level of assertiveness behavior before and after the training in the experimental group.
