Abstract
The development of manual machining and automatic machining manufacturing technology, especially in large-scale industries, places pressure on production speed and precision. Milling machines, especially in the end milling process, are the main focus of this research. Machining process parameters such as spindle rotation speed, cutting speed, depth of cut, feed speed, gear feed and cutting time play a key role in producing quality products. This research aims to determine the effect of variations in feed speed and feed depth on a universal milling machine on vibration and surface roughness of Aisi 1020 steel. The method used is experimental and uses variations in feed speeds of 24 mm/min, 42 mm/min and 74 mm. /min obtain significantly different surface roughness values. The smallest surface roughness value is 0.905 μm at a feeding speed of 24 mm/min, while the largest surface roughness value is 2.845 μm at a feeding speed of 74 mm/min. The results showed that at a depth of cut of 0.5 mm, 1 mm and 1.5 mm, the surface roughness values were significantly different. The smallest surface roughness value is 0.905 μm at a depth of cut of 0.5 mm, while the largest surface roughness value is 2.845 μm at a depth of cut of 1.5 mm.
