Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas pengalaman cosplayer crossdress saat berinteraksi sosial dan dapat diterima dalam lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 7 informan dan 3 key informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman seorang cosplayer crossdress saat berinteraksi menunjukkan bahwa mereka memiliki sikap dan perilaku yang mirip dengan masyarakat umum, dengan beberapa perbedaan yang wajar karena keunikan dan minat pribadi. Penggemar budaya Jepang melalui cosplay crossdress mendapatkan manfaat positif seperti pengetahuan, relasi yang luas, dan hobi baru yang memungkinkan mereka untuk mengekspresikan diri. Beberapa dari mereka juga dapat menghasilkan uang melalui aktivitas cosplay crossdress. Diharapkan adanya penelitian lebih lanjut untuk melengkapi pembahasan mengenai cosplayer crossdress, karena masih kurangnya penelitian dalam ranah ini. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menggunakan teori Akulturasi yang membahas Budaya Populer Jepang. Kata Kunci: Diri Sendiri, Interaksi Sosial, Masyarakat, Cosplayer Crossdress, Budaya Populer Jepang Abstract This study examines the experiences of crossdress cosplayers in social interactions and their acceptance within their environment. The research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with 7 informants and 3 key informants. The findings indicate that the experiences of crossdress cosplayers in interactions show that they exhibit attitudes and behaviors similar to the general public, with some differences due to their uniqueness and personal interests. Fans of Japanese culture through crossdress cosplay gain positive benefits such as knowledge, extensive relationships, and new hobbies that allow them to express themselves. Some of them also earn income through crossdress cosplay activities. Further research is needed to complement discussions on crossdress cosplayers, as there is still a lack of research in this area.
