Abstract

ABSTRACT Almas Syafa S A. 41182911200038. “THE URGENCY OF WAHBAH ZUHAILI’S THOUGHTS REGARDING CONTEMPORARY HUMANITARIAN ISSUES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDONESIAN ISLAMIC EDUCATION”. Faculty of Islamic Religion. Islamic University “45” Bekasi. (2024 M/1445 H). (122 pages of thesis + 15 pages of appendices). This study aims to describe human values according to Wahbah Zuhaili's views in Tafsir Al-Munir in order to provide solutions to contemporary humanitarian issues occurring in Indonesia which include poverty and economic inequality, access to health and education, environmental crises and disasters. nature, ethnic, religious and political conflicts, protection of human rights, urbanization and population mobility, corruption, injustice, social and economic pleasures. The urgency of Wahbah Zuhaili's thoughts regarding humanitarian issues is very relevant and significant for the development of Islamic education in Indonesia, which is reflected in several key aspects, namely; strengthening human values in the curriculum, forming character based on Islamic morals, improving the quality of learning, increasing tolerance, religious harmony, encouraging critical thinking and social participation. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research method and the data sources in this research include primary data, namely the book "Tafsir Al-Munir" and secondary data which includes empirical data and theoretical analysis from other sources related to the thesis. This. The data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data prese ntation, and ending with drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that the human values in Tafsir Al-Munir according to Wahbah Zuhaili include justice, compassion, equality, benevolence, respect for human rights, generosity and social solidarity. All of these teachings reflect the vision of Islam as a religion that brings mercy to all of nature (rahmatan lil 'alamin), which aims to create a just, prosperous and harmonious society. By elevating and applying the human values outlined by Wahbah Zuhaili, Islamic education in Indonesia can become more relevant, inclusive and holistic. This will produce a generation that not only excels in knowledge and skills, but also has strong moral character, who is ready to face global challenges and contribute positively to a plural and dynamic society.
