Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the meaning and changes in the function of urban space in the cultural practice of Car Free Day. The method used in this research is Ethnography by observing Car Free Day activities on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bekasi City, and interacting with Car Free Day participants. The analysis was carried out by referring to Henri Lefebvre's concept of space production, namely: Spatial Practice, Representation of Space, and Representational Space. The results showed that Car Free Day is one of the spatial practices related to the meaning of urban space as a space for cultural expression and lifestyle of urban communities.
